Linc was a high schooler who was good at everything. He could run fast, solve math problems, and even play the guitar! But when he saw an attractive girl, he would get all shy. One day, when he was in the school hallway, he saw a girl named Mia. He just wanted to say, "Hi, you're cool!" But instead, he muttered, "Um... do you like pizza?" Mia giggled and said, "I love pizza! Let's go grab some together!
From that day on, Linc and Mia were always together. They shared secrets, joked around, and had lots of fun. Linc was still a bit awkward, but Mia thought he was cute the way he was. One afternoon, while they were sitting under a big tree, Linc finally said, "Mia, I think I like you a lot!" Mia smiled brightly and replied, "I like you too, Linc! Don't worry about the words, just be you." In that moment, Linc felt happy and free, knowing that love didn't need perfect words.
As the days passed, Linc and Mia found all sorts of adventures. They doodled silly cartoons in class and cheered each other on at sports games. One day, Mia suggested, "Let's write a song together!" Linc was thrilled, and they spent hours strumming his guitar and coming up with fun lyrics about their favorite things like pizza and rainy days. It was their special song, and they sang it whenever they needed a little sunshine.
One weekend, they decided to have a picnic in the park. Mia packed sandwiches and a blanket, while Linc brought his guitar. As they sat under the clouds, Linc played their song, and Mia sang along with a big smile. They laughed so much that even the ducks on the pond seemed to join in. Linc realized that the best part of their friendship was how happy they made each other, just by being themselves.
When the school year ended, and summer began, Linc and Mia promised to always be friends. "No matter where we go, we'll keep making music and eating pizza," Mia said, holding out her pinky. Linc linked his pinky with hers and nodded, feeling grateful for the amazing friend he'd found. With a twinkle in his eye, Linc knew that sometimes, the best words were the ones you didn't have to say.
