Mira was excited! "Look, Mama! A big barn!" she exclaimed, bouncing on her little feet. She had never been to a farm before. As they stepped inside, a fluffy sheep came up to her. "Baa! Baa! I'm a sheep!" said the sheep. "I eat grass and my baby is called a lamb. We give you wool, which makes warm clothes!" Mira giggled and touched the sheep's soft fur, feeling its warmth.
Next, Mira saw a cow munching on hay. "Moo! Moo! I'm a cow!" the cow said. "I eat hay and grass, and my baby is called a calf. We give you milk, which makes cheese and yogurt!" Mira’s eyes widened. She then spotted a hen clucking nearby. "Cluck, cluck! I'm a hen! I eat seeds. My baby is called a chick. We give you eggs, which are yummy for breakfast!" Mira clapped her hands in joy, learning all about these animals and how they help people.
Mira's eyes sparkled as she walked further down the path. There, she saw a pig rolling in the mud. "Oink, oink! I'm a pig!" the pig said with a happy wiggle. "I eat grains and veggies, and my baby is called a piglet. We help farmers by turning leftovers into compost!" Mira laughed and waved at the pig, thinking how clever pigs are!
Just then, Mira noticed a group of ducks waddling by the pond. "Quack! Quack! We are ducks!" they quacked altogether. "We eat insects and plants, and our babies are called ducklings. We help keep the pond clean!" Mira waved goodbye to the ducks, feeling grateful for all the animals and their special gifts.
As the sun started to set, Mama said, "It's time to go home, Mira!" Mira gave one last look at the farm. "Bye-bye, animals! Thank you for the wool, milk, eggs, compost, and clean ponds!" she said, waving her tiny hand. Mira felt happy and warm inside, knowing she had made many new friends on her wonderful day at the farm.
